I just found out that I work with one of the instructors at Summit point. Anyone interested in a DCEVOCLUB event at Summit Point? I can ask him to see what's up if anyone would be interested? If it did happen it would take a while to get on the schedule. I'm just testing the waters. Maybe an All DCEVOCLUB FATT Friday?

both myself and meanmud (troy) on evom are signed up for the may 21st. fatt day at summit. i think they still have openings for that date... at least there will be two evos, maybe more. you could call bsr - http://www.bsr-inc.com/ - and see how many openings are left, need more evos!
both meanmud's car and mine are vishnu stage 1+ (cams). i roadraced bikes at summit for ten years (wera+ccs) and can't wait to get on the track w/the evo. after you take the fatt day course, you can go to any seat time day at summit during the season (mostly fridays).
lemmie know if anyone else is interested.

Puckadog,
I am DEFINITELY interested in doing an all EVO FATT at Summit. Any event with lots of EVOs would be great. I have been to the track many times and never seen an EVO so I'm excited that someone might get something together. I am also registered for the May 21st (and June 18th) FATT. I have the exact same mods as you on my car. We're the minorities in this club.
As far as seast time. You need to graduate up to class 2A in FATT in order for you to qualify for "Seat Time". I'm in 2A, let me know if you want any advice on how the EVO does on the track or anything like that. I'm excited for this Shenandoah course. Should be nice.

that's great! i was hoping other evos were registered. we definately should stay in touch as the may 21 day approaches. i didn't know that you had to move to a "2a" whatever to qualify for seat time. good info. i'd definately like to talk to you soon. i got some alignment # from jack (jbrennen) and plan to get ebc red pads and higher temp brake fluid in may (i'll take my ebc greens out and take em to the track). i'm going to pm you my phone # and maybe you can call and i can pick yer brain. it's definately going to be diffrent riding around summit in a car. my best lap time on my 600 superbike at summit was a 1-23.8... (i'm an old guy!) the bike was a monster and this was before they re-graded turn 3-4 and repaved. is summit still as slimy as ever? at least i'll have four wheels under me!

A 1.23 min lap at Summit Point would put you in the VERY fast range for a car. So don't expect any times like those. Generally the best drivers are around 1:30 or so. But this is on the normal Summit Point track. We're going to be driving on the brand new Shenandoah course which I'm really excited about. It's good that you're getting better brake fluid. I noticed some sponginess in mine during one of my runs. It really worried me. So I have steel braided brake lines and that "super blue" racing fluid. I need to upgrade my brakes though. Not sure who to go through. Have any ideas?

man, i didn't know that the new track was going to be done so fast! that should make it very interesting.
brakes? i would think that the brembo calipers would be as good as most options available. i have been lusting after the baer eratispeed(?) 2 piece rotors though.
not going to have the $ for them yet. maybe jic coilovers first.
i think with the old track repaved and done now the bike lap record is around 1-16 something. i was winning in novice 600 superbike with lap times like that (23-24s) in 98-99... that is till one major get off at roebling in savannah... 10 days in the hospital, 30,000 hosp. bill - kinda took the wind outta my sails. retired shortly after. i was more scared of knucklehead 20 somethings sneaking under you in turn 1... slippery off the concrete and no where to go but into you!
stay in touch! oh yea, how long is the new track?

chris, what are you doing as far as brakes go? just pads and stuff or rotors or the works? i haven't really had to use the brakes on my car very hard driving the streets around here. plus, i haven't been driving it much at all till all that crap gets washed off the roads! a day at the track will tell.

I have stock-sized Endless 2-piece slotted rotors on the way, plus Endless SS lines, Endless CC-X pads, ATE Super Blue fluid, BBS 18x8.5 RS-GTs, Toyo T-1S. The Brembo calipers are fine as long as the pads and fluid are good. I have only heard outstanding things about the Endless rotors.
Note about the Eradispeeds: A thread on EvoM has an owner's problems with them. It might be good to read the posts...

Post a thread in meetings and suggest a date - I'm sure Dan @ Mach V wouldn't mind hosting another meet, esp. as the weather gets warmer.

I hope nobody minds me waking up this old thread, but I thought I needed to chime in here...
I've had the Baer Eradispeed+ front rotors on my car for over five weeks now with no complaints. I also have a set of matching rear rotors which have a fitment issue. I got them back in December from the very first units offered to the public. I have been meaning to ask Pruven if the fitment issues have been resolved so that I can exchange my rotors for newer ones which fit better.
The front rotors seem to be good quality, significantly lighter than stock, and they are of course slotted for whatever that's worth. I bought them purely for the weight savings.
And back on the main topic... You'll have fun at Summit Point in the Evo. Get used to seeing those arms coming out of the car in front of you to wave you by... :)

Are the fitment issues related to the placement of the stock brake lines in the rear? When I was at Pruven, Dan was saying something about needing to re-route the stock lines and then they work.... Of course he may not have been talking about the same brakes you have.

No, the fitment issue with the rear rotors I have is that the backing plate of the outer brake pad interferes with the bolts which hold the "hat" to the "rotor" -- it's not unworkable, it can be solved by grinding off a millimeter or two of the pad's backing plate.

I wouldn't say that 1:30 is that stellar. It's definitely not a first-time-out lap time on the main course, but it's attainable within a few visits to the track...at least in a lowly Camaro :D

So what happened to this? Are we getting an event together at Summit Point? I would do this in a heartbeat. There's nothing like seeing other EVos out there on the track.
