Does anyone else have issues accessing the site from a work location since the major changes to its appearance....month or so ago???

Just wondering if it is just me...the man is always watching where I work:)

Ive gotten that from my girlfriend's school and when using a Verizon cell card. Im not sure if those IP ranges are blocked or what.

That is to say I can browse the site, I just cant login to post.

Are you having problems all the time or just sometimes at the specific location? Did you try to clear your cookies, refresh and re-login?? Sorry for all the trouble.

no problems at work for me and all our connections run through the company firewall.

...maybe that just tells us something about how "secure" our system is :P

Memo is on the right track. If they have cookies disabled, and we're using cookies to track logins (PHPbb standard, I think?), then you can't log in, but can browse.

Being blocked altogether is an IP issue. Either the admins at work have blocked those IPs or domain name, or an IP ban set up by DCEvo is picking up your IP as a banned IP.

Hope that helps.

Im pretty sure the issue I was having was IP related. It was the same laptop I always use to browse, just connecting using a Verizon cell card vs. my work/home connection.

yea half the time at home it won't let me log in either...sometimes it says "thank you for logging on" and then it sends me back to the log in screen saying "You have to be logged in to proceed"?

I am pretty sure it is an IP issue on my firewall side....basically I get an error stating that the server cannot be found.

Sucks...I don't know if it was the new site or the changes they made at work...

I do get more work done now at work though....not sure if that is a good thing or not :D

The IP address for this site changed as part of that upgrade to a range that is blocked by the Navy so I'm sad! I have to work more to pass the time!

I was going to suggest the same thing as aaron. Use a cloak to access the site (proxy server). A good one used to be www.thecloak.com. That one is gone now but all you have to do is a google search for proxy servers and you can find one that you can use for free.

Some will have a page limit so you're not killing their bandwith. Anyway, good luck.

I believe there are plenty of internet geeks that can help you here (me included)

Bingo.

Or, you can do what I used to do, and set up a remote desktop server at home. Then, connect to your home PC, and browse away unrestricted.

But don't tell anybody that I do network security. :D

Thanks for the ideas guys, but I just remembered one more thing. I can't install any software on any of the terminals that are allowed online where I work. I still think I can setup remote access to my home computer, which is what I plan to try.

Just wanted to say thanks again.
