View Full Version : Brakes, custom downpipe...
I need to find the best place to do a custom downpipe for my Base Lancer, and possibly do a brake install. With the downpipe I need a O2 bung for a wideband welded on. The brake install would be for rotors, pads and SS lines. Anyone knowning a good shop let me know.

that's something we should be able to take care of pretty easily bud.

I've seen the work that Nick does at DTM and it is amazing fab work. Check Betty's custom turbo kit. He made the LICP, downpipe all that stuff check the link below.

For everyone else that wants to say something. I haven't seen anyone else's work so I can't comment on other shops, but I have seen DTM'S work and I'm very impressed.

Since Incognito DOES get it, I'll explain it to the slower ones in the bunch. I noted the "my shop welded this" and then "well my shop does this" followed by "well my shop does this better", etc. So I thought it would be funny to put some random sexy headers in pics with "my shop is better" nonsense...

Chris,
I never said that "well my shop does this better". Not once did I ever imply that one bit. I was just trying to show Marti MY NEW MANIFOLD. I could careless which shop Joe Blow goes to for his work... I'm happy about my new toy. :D No reason to "hate, hate, hate".

Obviously most of this post is misunderstood. I meant by "you get it" that you understood I was kidding. Never once did I think you were doing anything wrong.

Shingen,
I just wanted to give my apologies on thread jacking you, I hope you have gotten some helpful advise or direction. I wouldn't be surpised if you didn't use either of the shops listed in this thread, but I think my manifold is something of shear beauty.

Fox, the pics of the car that Marti posted are pics of my car. Hendrik is their new welder, and I like his work. You know how particular I am about my car.
Edit: Good to see you back on the boards. I was asking about you when we were at Hooters with Frank. Hope to see you out at some meets later.

sweet!
Damn you guys! Brings life to the forums but come on now. haha. I have an idea of what I want to do. My dilemma is this, I plan to go custom turbo setup on my base lancer in the next few months so I might just hold off of on the downpipe, because of fitment issues with a custom manifold. This just dawned on me… why tune NA when I’ll just have to tune when I’m FI? Seems stupid. And the major part of the downpipe was to house a O2 bung for a wideband.
As for the brake install I think I just might enlist the work of N1te... and no I'm not paying you bro... haha, you've been using my Safc longer than I've had the thing in my possession and I just gave you a rotor and a caliper... so I'm calling in the favor. heh ;) Oh and did you ever pay be back for that beer???
As for the shots of the custom work: It's good to know what shops are around and later when I'm looking to have a manifold fabed up and some tuning I'll give a call around. But doing a brake install isn't that difficult and that’s my priority right now.
I appreciate the responses and it shed light on my conundrum.
MadMsheen- Frank has been telling me all about your new turbo and all the work. I can't wait to see it all in person. Perhaps I will make it out to one of the future meets. My car has been hurting lately and I was unable to make it to the DSM meet.

Yea Hendrick does a great job, definately top notch work

I want to see "300", but that doesn't have anything to do with my turbo. :p
The car has not been dynoed, and is not 100% complete. I have 430 miles out of my 500 mile break in. There are a few other things that I'm waiting on, such as alky fail safe. Dyno numbers will be coming, but like everything else on my car, will take a little more time.
My car will always be done "tomorrow".
Fox, next time I see you and Frank, if my car's done, Sandy will be more than happy to give you a ride. Just make sure your life insurance is paid up. ;)

Until I'm 23 I'm worth $100,000. That'd buy you some mods Seyla.

Haha Fox sounds good. I guess it is about time I put in some work to pay for my rental of the S-Afc. Btw I appreciate the rotor and the caliper I really need to run out and get those powder coated my brakes are starting to go. And hey we called it even on the beer! Neither of us are really all that good at coordinating our schedules though, so I was wondering if you'd want to switch cars for a day so I can get the work done and not worry about time constraints?

You know, that'd be awesome. I never even thought of doing that but that sounds good. What day is good for you? And I'll buy you a case of whatever for the work.
