ok, so now i think i know why the car was sold with only 5k miles on it, it grinds gears, 3-4 sometimes grinds with the clutch all the way down, it depends on how high rpms it is in 4th, and then from 4th to 5th it grinds also, 4k or higher rpms in 4th and then shift to 5, clutch is all the way down, and it grinds going into 5th. what they hell is happening, and what should i do?? :(

^ what dealership did you take it too, and did you have lots of mods? I'm about to take mine in, but don't want to take the mods off.

You should have noticed this on a test drive. This is why it's perilous to buy a used Evo. The TSB is only for the 03/04, but they should still fix it the same on your 05, because it's under warranty. Call up Alexandria Mitsu, talk to Bob, and tell him your 05 is grinding the 3-4/4-5 shifts at only 5k miles. They should replace all the synchros under warranty no problem, but really, you should have the ass of the dealership who sold it to you. You probably should put the heat on them for selling a busted ass 05...

Clayton is correct. Call Alexandria Mitsu and talk to Bob. He is very cool and they are doing my 2.3 install so you will see a '03 evo minus an engine there

That's BS. When you had the paperwork started and they realized you were a legitimate buyer you should have been able to test drive . . . esspecially a used one. Where did u buy it from? If it's a Mitsu dealer i would just take it back to them and have them fix it. Otherwise, if you can't get it fixed under warranty for some reason, you should send the bill to the dealer that sold you the car in the first place.

I think I remember seeing that black used 05 sitting in the lot since the summer time, cuz I was checking out the IX's.
That sucks. I am with the others... there is no way you should pay out of pocket for this in the end. Don't let them convince you otherwise.

We had a couple of 05 Evos where the gears are grinding; it seems that the problem is still around and has not been 100% reslved for 2005.
