View Full Version : Evo IX baselined at Curry's
OK, had the baseline done today. I know it's not comparable with anything, but I felt like I should post it for posterity anyway.
They let me, as well as my wife and cij911, hang out around the dyno and harass the tech :D so that was cool.
We did three pulls. The first pull was much weaker, but this seems to be normal from what I read as things come up to temp. The runs were:
whp/wtq
239.9/235.8
251.1/240.6
252.3/243.8
The only reference I have for this dyno is that one of the employee's STi (Dan) supposedly baselined in the 240s on it.
Here's a pic of the dyno sheet from the best run (no scanner available and no runfile of course :( )

I've run on that dyno... I'll have to look for my charts. When I dynoed there, I had some mods, but I don't think I was that much higher... maybe 260 or 270 or so.
Ah cool, that would be interesting.
By the way, they mentioned that a woman with a yellow Evo had dynoed there recently ... is that someone here?

how much was the dyno?
how much was the dyno?
Normal price $105, they gave me a whopping $10 discount for a grand total of $95.

Do they have AFR available?

+ AFR is like $40 - 50.
+ AFR is like $40 - 50.
Yes, that's exactly what I was told ... $40 extra to do the AFR. I didn't do it for the baseline. They mentioned that they could either use a tailpipe sniffer or possibly remove the stock rear O2 and insert their sensor there.

I found my chart from April 2004. At that time, I think I had an intake, exhaust, boost control and Dynoflash:
The high #s were 280hp and 308tq

My other run was 279/296
LOL, did you find that in the lint catcher of your dryer? :D
Thanks for posting though, that at least provides some comparison on Curry's Mustang.
I'm curious, does the hp@50mph that is entered affect the resulting numbers at all? I see they didn't enter anything on yours, but they put 11.50 on mine. I think I understand that this is supposed to be some sort of drag coeffecient type of number (how much hp at 50mph is required just to fight drag?), but I don't know how that changes the results, if at all?

Ha, yeah, it was folded and I spilled some water on it LOL
I don't know. There has never been a number there for me whenever I've gone there. It's always 0. That's why I'm kind of dubious of those guys. I mean I had to press to even go back to the dyno, and then I'm making sure they're entering the variables correctly, etc. They know what they're doing, but it just seems they're more experts on NA Euro cars.
