View Full Version : RNR o2 Downpipe installed!

Well, first of all it was pain in the a$!
It took us like almost 4-5 hours to instal it because of some errors we had.
We took everything off... radiator, hoses etc.

The hoses on the 02 housing were little small so after trying couple times, we had to make them little bigger for a better fitment.
After that we still had couple problems. Now, there is a little gap between o2 housing and the downpipe 02 head. I tried to harden all the screws but there was still a gap between it. (It is hard to see it, but i will post the pics tomorrow) We thought it might be because of the gasket we used since it wasn't flat. (the stock one)
The third thing was the, heat shield that goes between 02 housing and the radiator. I didn't see the any holes on the new o2 housing to put the heatshield on (old one had 4 holes on it)

Do you think the gap where the exhaust (downpipe) meets with the car will cause problems? i checked the boost gauge and i am running about 1.55 bar of boost at the most...
Samething for the heatshield, how can i fit the stock heatshield on the rnr 02 housing?

Any help will be appreciated...
sorry for the bad grammer and usage of the words..

The only problem I see with a leak like that is if you have a wideband o2 hooked up for tuning you will get inaccurate a/f readings.

can you smell exhaust, i mean is it a gap as where there is space for exhaust to leak?

I ran 1.5 bar at the track and sometimes my topend would suffer because it was pulling timing on Citgo 93 octane.

Now everything is fixed...(although it took like 9 days ) I took the downpipe off and I sent it back to RNR and I think they are gonna send me a new one.. I asked for a refund but they were like NO! I was kind of pissed because I paid 2-time installation and If I were to install it again when send me back, It would be the third installation..

Now I have the Ultimate downpipe and the installation took some time because stock gasket didn't fit so I used a gasket from my old downpipe with high temperature sealer... so far no leak :)
And running about 1.48 to 1.50 bar which is about 21-22 on pump :)

Yea I decided on Ultimate Racing DP as well. Also their off road pipe. But first I'll be driving up to TurboXS since they just finished their Cat back. :D

I know. I was saying they just finished it. I was on the phone with them earlier. =)
I called them 2 weeks ago and they said it would be a month before it was ready for production.
