Ok, gang, I'm getting Al to come back down for a combination of reasons: to provide FULL CUSTOM RE-TUNES to some local members and to provide custom flashes/base flashes for new customers who need tuning.
What I need are PMs from people who need a tune (or re-tune) and would like to get a flash from Al in the next 2 weeks. I also need PMs from people like Seyla, Wally, and Ary who are getting a complimentary custom street tune if they so desire. Most likely, Al will go to the same general area in Gaithersburg and do flashes the entire day. Slots will be divided up into 2-hour timeframes for the street tunes and base flashes can be done throughout the day between street tune appointments.

Clay, how much is the custom street tune? Also, does Al flashes the ECU from the OBDII port or he has to remove the factory ECU to flash it?

I believe it's $400 for a custom street tune, and I believe he uses the OBDII port. That's what he did when he gave me my base flash in person last time he was here...
Have you gotten any feedback from Al as to what dates he has available?
If it doesn't happen this month, how do you feel about organizing something in December?

He will give me a date when I have some names. He is available in 2 weeks, and we will be doing it as soon as possible after the 21st. For there to be one in December, it would be up to you guys to find 6-8 people and get on his schedule again unless for some reason we don't get him down here until Dec 1st for this one (possible).
Thanks for the response. I may have to hold off until the new year. I've just gotten past the break-in mileage on my IX. I should probably put a couple thousand miles on it before I hand it over to Al.
I wonder if he can fix my code po300. its keep on coming back.

I do believe for the custom tune, He pulls out your ECU and hooks everything up. When I had a base flash a long while back he just used the OBD port.

I'm interested but I can't say it for sure right now. I'm still waiting to get all my parts.
BTW, do I need to get it retune if I decided to add an intake later on?

Marshall, you will need a retune with the addition of a new intake. You should just try to get the intake before the flash if you want to go that route.

I think he if he got a custom flash now he could get a free re-flash for the intake later..... Mail in that is.

He could also do that, Joe, but then it would be more like a mail in tune. The custom tune with intake would be better. Al could probably answer that question better, but that was what I was told when I mentioned this same topic to him.
Id be game but i would like to wait into December myself. Im still putting together a couple different things and dont think i will be prepared in two weeks. Other than that pencil me in.
I'm definitely interested....
yea, sometime in december would be ok for me also. what's the charge going to be for customers that have had previous custom tunes? normally he gives a price break.
