View Full Version : RRM Headers
Today I installed headers from RRM. They make a dramatic difference in the way the car feels from 3500 to redline, in all gears, and acceleration is much improved. As for the HP increase I'm guessing, butt dyno here, around 10-15hp, does that sound right?
There is something to be said for the sound of the headers as well. With a more open exhuast, coupled with my SRI, and my Magnaflow Catback exhaust the car sounds mean, I like :).
I didn't do the 02 fix on the the second O2 sensor, but if the CEL light goes off I know what must be done so I'll be sure to do it and fix it right away.
I also wanted to thank my friends John, Frank aka N1te and Paul aka Jotune for helping me out today. Espically Frank for not laughing at my stupid ass for asking, "what do I do now?", truth is I was hurting for sleep and really tired if that is an excuse for my lathargic and inquesitive nature today in the garage. I just didn't want to think for myself Heh.
Anyway I'll post any noticeable observations tomorrow.

I live south of Woodbridge near Quantico actually. I don't have any major plans for mods in the near future but I think I'm going to start to save for coilovers... maybe end of Sept? I'm not sure, but I'll be needing help on that install for sure.

Don't forget about the intake manifold you are buying from me. Glad you like the headers, they are pretty nice. I actually just found out a little short cut to getting the headers on and off. If you remove the dip stick, just one small bolt, it greatly reduces the time this install takes.

Yeah, I hope to start porting it out on Saturday and maybe get it installed on when Boe comes out with those spacers. In the meantime I might see how much powder coating would cost just to make them look cool.

Don't bother with powder coating. Just use some elbow grease to sand it down, then prime and paint it yourself. Use that extra money you save not powder coating it for more mods.

Yeah, Frank (N1te) and Paul (Jotun) helped me port out the Intake Manifold yesterday. It looks really good. I expected that Paul would just show me what to take off and maybe if I was lucky pray for me while I screwed it up... but to my surprise he sat down and ported the damn thing for me while I acted as a human vice. Not only that but he offered to paint it for me, and how could I say no? (Paul I'll get you a six pack of Bud, man... thanks for helping me out) Frank should have pics of Paul porting out the Manifold while I held the damn thing still.
There were some numbers in yellow paint at the top of the Intake Manifold... well they were still peaking through the silver paint, so I decided to paint the top of the Manifold Black tonight... I should be banned from painting things, as I suck at it... I'll take pics and post them up soon.
I would like to say thank you to all of you guys for helping me. Jason, thanks for selling me this Intake Manifold, I can't wait to get it on. Frank, thanks for helping me out by introducing me to Paul and for everything else. Paul, thanks for porting out the Intake Manifold for me, it looks great.
You know, not that I'm surprised but all of the Lancer, and Evo guys I've meet here from DcEvoCulb have been very helpful, kind and generous. I am glad to be a member for this club. I can't wait for the BBQ later this summer and hopefully the Lancer membership will grow as time goes on. Jason, Frank, and Paul, thanks again.

PS- Frank post up the pics, espically that one with Paul wearing the birth control glasses
