I wanted to take a few moment to introduce ourselves to you. We are a performance shop loated in Long Island, New York that recently became a new sponosor of this site. Many of you already know us becuase you are customer and friends, but for those that don't, here goes :)

I have been into this whole "car moddin" scene for about 10 years now, and involved on the business side of things for about 5 years. In that time, I have seen lots of trends come and go, lots of shops come and go, etc. In that time, I have been lucky enough to connect with some key people in the inductry who have really edctaed me and guided me as I toyed with my own cars. In 1996, Z-1 began with its first shop, and primarily as involved in the restoration and performance modifications to Datsun/Nissan Z cars. As the years progrssed though, this market beame smaller and smaller, so we began branching out into other makes/models. From a personal level, I have owned a '79 280ZX since the Spring of 1994, when I puchased a mint blue/silver model. Since that time, my car has undergone extensive modifications, and is now turbocharged (T66), sandalone engine management (Electromotive), fully built motor, etc etc - and once dynoed should put out a bit shy of 600 at the wheels. As the buildup of that car took place, I was forced to get another car for daily transportation. I started with a All Trac Turbo Celica (ST165), as I have always beena rally fan from back in the Group B days of the 80's. From there, I stepped into a '99 Subaru 2.5 RS, which we proceeded to turbocharge, and modify every other aspect as well, making it the fastest Subaru in the US for a bit over a year (and well before the current WRX craze ever took hold). Eventually that car cuminated with an Sti motor swap, STi tranny, and lots of other toys (standalone engine management, big brakes, etc. etc.). In the interim, I also had picked up a Galant VR4, which we also proceeded to heavily mod.

So what does all ths mean? As I changed and upgrded cars, I had to learn a new book of lingo, and a new methodology. Each car is unique unto itself, and as such, you must often seek out the knowledge and expertise of people who have been there before you. During the buildup of the above cars, I became quie close with several of the top tuning shops in Japan and the UK. The knowledge they imparted on me has served me very well, both in terms of modifying my own cars, but also in tuning customer cars. Since getting into the heavy buildup of the Subaru, we have also been involved in parts and tuning for the Evolution models. Since we were hanging on on many of the European and South American BBS's, trying to learn as much as possible about the Subaru, its likes, dislikes, quirks, etc., we established a clientelle in those regions. Much like customers in the US, they were after quality parts that worked right the first time, and that we had experience with.

Modifying and tuning is a never ending learing experience. Over the years, I ahve been very fortunate to have people there to bounce ideas off, assist me i rying new things, develop new products, and offer me real world advise. All too often when searching for parts for my own car, I typically found the same BS sales pitches, ather than real world info on the items I wanted. the shops I connected with were always honest and forthright with their opinions, and since they actually worked on the cars, they knew which exhausts fit he best, which ecu's were easiest to tune, whcih suspension bits lasted the longest, and whose warranty meant something, and whose was useless. This is just part of the information I hope to be able to share with this forum.

There are TONS of places that sell parts for these cars, so in that vein we have an uphill battle from the start. The niche we created for ourselves was real world experience and a no BS approach. if something is worth doing, it is worth doing right. However, that oesn't mean that every customer is the same, and as such, we try to offer a bit of everything for our customers. A specific strength of our company is the ability to source rare and unique items for the customers when others cannot. Though it can sometimes be a time consuming experience, I love the search for new parts, and I love the learning process that comes with being the first to offer something. You will find in dealing with us that we are up front, realistic, and sensitive to our customer needs. Are we always the cheapest place on the block? No, not always. Are our prices competitive - very much so, and often, we ARE the cheapest alternative. however, what seperates us from the millions of othe "tuner shops out there is that we use what we sell, and we back up the sale with service that is unmatched. If we can beat a price, we will, if we cannot, we will be honest and tell you we can't. What I have learned in this business, both as a customer and a vendor, is the feeling of a great price goes away long before the bitterness of poor service. All too often I get IM's, calls, emails from people who bought parts someplace else, but don't know how to install it, or cannot figure out how to use it. While we have not used every part out there, we have used a wide variety, and if I don't know the answer, I'll find it for you in short order.

So thats it, a brief, candid intorduction from your latest sponsor :)

Now onto some of the good stuff - parts and discounts!!! We are a direct dealer for many many companies, and we are resellers for even more. As many of you know, one of our specialties is rare JDM parts, or items sold in other areas of the world. Advan, HKS Kansai, Garage HRS, Mine's, Deck, Phoenix Power, Alex, Work, are just some of the unique brands we carry. We regularly deal with Ralliart, GReddy, HKS, Apex'i, Blitz, Sparco, Bride, Takata, Tein, Volk, etc etc etc., so if you ever need anything or have a question, feel free to ask.

One of the coolt hings we will be doing for you guys is giving you access to pars rpices teh typical visitor to our webpage cannot see. In the next couple of weeks, we will be unveiling our new website (many many months in the making) with full secure e commerce, lots of pictures, and real world descriptions. Once teh site is rolled out, we will begin a program for you that will have you logon to our site, using your screen name from DCEvoClub, and it will ring up your own club level pricing. Discounts will vary from item to item, but of course they will be well below retail, and below our web prices.

We will also be working with the members of this site, as well as local customers on developing new products, track days, meets, etc. Since we really are not far from you guys, you will actually see us at many of your club events in the future, and we look forward to meeting everyone. and checking ou their cars!

In the meantime, if you have a question about specs, pricing, availability, or anything else, drop us a PM, email us (z1sales@z1auto.com), call us, and we will be happy to help you in any way we can!

It's great to be here, and we look forward to working with you!

No problem, I was just kidding.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few typos on prices though :)
