Last night I went to the meet in Manassas for the first time. It was pretty good - a lot of mustangs, civics, etc. I was the only Evo there. A guy some of you might know from Crossroads meets (Mike with the silver 350Z) was there, as well as a couple other Zs. Some nice eye candy, a lot of ricers, a lot of rednecks, but a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Some unusual stuff was there, too: A Hayabusa (GSX-R1300) with nitrous, a couple of caged Golfs, a couple of blown Echos (!?!?!? WTF?), etc. Some of you might want to come out next time, esp. those of you who live nearby. It is off Centreville Road near the 246/66 interchange. Someone else who's been there can probably post better directions since I hardly knew WTF I was...

I guess a couple of the guys roll up to Rockville later for more fun. If anyone wants me to call them when things are going on, PM me with your phone number. You'll know it's me calling when you a 714 area code.

Yeah...that meet has been going on for years now...it's a good one! If you plan to be there in the future, I'll definitely try to come out, because it is a lot closer to me than Crossroads. Best to get there early or risk not having any spaces left. Let me know if you'll be out there next Saturday. :cool:

The Saturday meet is at the Burger King by the Manassas Regional Airport, just off Rt. 28 about a half mile south of the Rt. 234 bypass. The easiest way for those of you in NOVA is to get on Rt. 28 South. Follow Rt. 28 all the way through Manassas, and go past the Rt. 234 interchange. The Burger King is about a half mile on the left. There is a McDonald's there, too. If you come down in the late afternoon, there should be plenty of cars in the parking lot (if the weather is good)...you can't miss it!

One suggestion folks, that place is more sketchy than you think, there have been fights, shootings, crashes IN the lot from people running, thefts, infact, this past week, valve stem caps got stolen, estimated value of one set was roughly $60 =\ this happened to 2 cars from CrossroadOnline.com the kid was caught, and when approached he pulled out SOME of the caps and oops, some were for a fiero.... BEWARE.

Really??? I've been going to that meet for years, and have never had any problems... :)

Yeah...Manassas is the Mexican ghetto of Fairfax cty. There are lots of sketchy people etc there. But I wouldn't really categorize it as a dangerous place....prolly no worse than parking your car at Tysons on a saturday afternoon.

If it's not raining, I'll come by in the old Mini...

Hehe, I was there when the jackass pulled a gun right in the middle of the lot, I was there when shit got stolen from cars, I was there when a gang fight started ;) just a friendly warning not to get tooooooo comfy there. I go there occasionally also, but never ever leave my cars side or my fiancee. And just so you know.... i'm "Mexican" *cough*

BTW - it looks like there is a lot to do this weekend (Friday as usual, Saturday at the VMP thing, Saturday night in Manassas...).

Ok well Crossroads got rained out last night - so I guess I'll be at BK tonight (10/18)... If anyone wants to meet up there, I should be there around 7-ish. I'll try not to park near the rednecks this time. LOL

I got there around 7:15. I stayed until about 9:30. It was pretty dead and REALLY cold. Silent Drill and Evo84me were there, too.

Fairfax was pretty good - I'll post more under the Fairfax thread. As for BK, unless something very cool comes up, I'll be there - this will be my last meet for a little while since I'll be away for training for a couple weeks.

(If anyone is going to the autocrosses on the 2nd and the 9th at Rosecroft Raceway, I'll be running in the second heat both days - 10am)
