anyone know how hard it is to replace the reverse light switch on a 5 speed tranny evo 8? my reverse lights don't work and i replaced all the fuses and bulbs.

Not that hard. It's a 22 or 24mm socket to get it out and put the new one in.

Do you have to take the transmission out for that?
It's underneath the batter tray.
Take out the battery, then the tray, doesn't require transmission drop. Should take 30 min or less.
for VIII 5 Speed, should have a wiring harness connected to it, pretty easy to spot. Take off the harness then unscrew the switch, make sure not to tighten the new one down to much or reverse won't engage....if I remember correctly.
